This month, we’re highlighting Marylei and her recent trip to Vietnam, where she had the opportunity to experience the local culture, food, and everyday life.
One of the highlights of her trip was a Vietnamese coffee-making workshop, where she learned how to make traditional Vietnamese coffee using the well-known Phin filter. She also learned how to make egg coffee and how condensed milk is used to balance the strong coffee flavor.
The experience gave Marylei a greater appreciation for the time and care that goes into each cup of coffee. She also noticed how coffee brings people together and creates a sense of community.
Beyond coffee, the trip gave her the chance to experience Vietnamese culture more broadly. Despite occasional language barriers, Marylei found the people to be warm and welcoming, which gave her the confidence to explore local markets, try local foods and delicacies, and spend time experiencing day-to-day life in Vietnam.
We loved hearing about Marylei’s experience and are excited she had the opportunity to explore such a unique place!
