Giving back to our community is a commitment we take seriously at The Royce CPA Firm. We’re thrilled to be holding a Pajama and Book Drive in the month of September. We will be taking donations from September 1 until October 1 and hope you’ll help us spread the word!
What We’re Collecting for the Pajama Drive
We are looking for donations of new, completely unworn pajamas for children, from newborns all the way up through teenagers. We are also accepting new and gently used books. If you prefer to give a cash donation, we can also accept those, which can be used as a Qualified Charitable Organization donation on your tax returns. Please keep in mind that donated pajamas must have been manufactured as pajamas, as this will ensure that the material used is flame retardant.
We are collecting these items in September and will be organizing and sorting them after the drive. They will be distributed during the holiday season to kids in need.
About Angel Heart Pajama Project
Arizona has a high number of children in state custody—usually more than 13,000 at any given time. Often, these children enter foster homes and care homes with nothing but the clothes they are wearing, and are in need of feeling loved and cared for. The founders of Angel Heart Pajama Project recognized how important it can be for a child to get his or her very own brand-new pair of pajamas and a book to call his or her own. Thus, the idea for Angel Heart Pajama Project was born. Since 2013, Angel Heart Pajama Project has distributed nearly 30,000 pajamas and books and has established a library near Tucson Children’s Clinic to support kids receiving medical care.
Pajamas and books are distributed to children in Southern Arizona in foster care, group homes, and homeless shelters, in hopes of giving these children a feeling of security and a sense that people care about them. Distributing books is also an effective way to encourage a love of reading and support child literacy.
